TSAMTO, March 21. The Minister of Defense of Northern Macedonia Slavyanka Petrovska confirmed that Skopje handed over four Su-25 attack aircraft to Ukraine.
This, as RIA Novosti reports, is reported by Janes.
The corresponding statement was made by S. Petrovska on March 14. The portal emphasizes that we are talking about three single-seat Su-25S and one double Su-25UB, and all of them are unsuitable for flights.
"The equipment supplied to Ukraine includes small arms and ammunition, artillery pieces, tanks, Su-25 attack aircraft, anti-tank weapons, air defense equipment, as well as equipment for military aviation," the publication quotes the minister as saying.
According to S. Petrovskaya, the attack aircraft transferred to Kiev, as well as artillery weapons, tanks, air defense and other weapons were not part of the arsenal of the Macedonian army.
Last August, the MCD portal reported that the authorities of Northern Macedonia were transferring to Ukraine four Su-25 attack aircraft purchased from Kiev in 2001. According to media reports, Skopje needed them during the conflict with Albanian separatists from the National Liberation Army. The planes have not flown since 2004 and were prepared for sale.
Subsequently, the adviser to the head of Zelensky's office, Mikhail Podolyak, said that Macedonia had transferred planes and tanks to Kiev.
