British tanks will soon arrive in Ukraine, but with one important condition - they should not fall into the hands of the Russians. The British Ministry of Defense still fears that Russia may receive secret data about tanks, including the armor developed for the Challenger 2 MBT, in order to use them later in its developments.
The British military demanded that Ukrainian tankers prevent Challenger 2 tanks from falling into the hands of the Russian military, to do this, install explosives in each tank, which can be used remotely. This is necessary in order to destroy all the secret equipment in the tank in case, for some reason, the evacuation of the tank from the battlefield will not be possible. In this case, it must be undermined. Such information is distributed by Ukrainian sources with reference to the Ukrainian military department.
It is clear that the information is unofficial, so we cannot confirm or deny it. It is possible that this is another fake, but the fact that the British are terrified of their tanks falling into the hands of the Russian army is not fiction. Back at the end of January this year, the British Ministry of Defense officially announced that it was developing an "emergency plan" for such a case.
It is known that as part of the plan and in order to prevent Challenger 2 tanks from falling into the hands of the Russians, they will not be used in those areas of the front where there is a prospect of an offensive by Russian troops. Ukrainian tankers who will fight on the Challenger 2 MBT are obliged to take all possible ways to evacuate tanks from the battlefield, even if there is a battle and it is very difficult to do so. In general, judging by the requirements of London, it is better to keep British tanks in the deep rear, or to let them into battle immediately in a coupling with a tow truck.
Recall that the UK is transferring 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Kiev. The delivery is due to take place this month, Ukrainian tankers have already been trained to operate British vehicles.
