In Britain, the epic with the new Ajax BMP has been going on for 12 years, 5.5 billion pounds have been spent on the program for the creation of which. 414 vehicle hulls have already been built, and 116 towers are ready for installation after the tests are completed – their completion is just around the corner, says Defense Minister Ben Wallace.
In total, 589 infantry fighting vehicles for various purposes were promised to the army, the first of which were to enter service in 2019, but the project has not yet reached technological maturity.
- the head of the military department told the BBC.
One of the main problems is the excessive level of noise and vibrations, which complicates the operation of the BMP. The crews complained of hearing loss and numbness of the limbs. More than 300 people who took part in the tests were examined, some of them had long-term hearing damage.
In order to avoid excessive vibration, the equipment responsible for manual control was reinstalled and changes were made to the design of the seat mounts.

It is expected that the final stage of testing will last 18 months, but it may take another two years before Ajax finally enters service with the army.
