A new "miracle weapon" nicknamed "flying lawn mower" has appeared in Ukraine. According to American websites, with the help of these weapons, Russia was able to find the key to breaking through the AFU air defense system. What is it? This is a kind of kamikaze drone, which we also call a barrage ammunition.
According to an article on the Russian website, this small UAV eclipsed the original Ukrainian TB-2 drone and Switchblade barrage ammunition. Obviously, this small but formidable weapon challenges the entire air defense system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In terms of flight duration, the UAV surpasses the American Switchblade drones sent by the United States as military assistance to Ukraine. The maximum flight range of American vehicles is two hundred kilometers, so they cannot take off too high and fly far away.
But the autonomous flight time of the Russian Gerani-2 is more than 10 hours. It is said that its flight range can reach 1.8 thousand kilometers. Since now the UAV can spend much more time in the air, it can cover the whole of Ukraine. The warhead of the drone weighs about 50 kilograms, and its flying characteristics are much higher than those of the Switchblade, and it can attack even armored targets.

From here we see that the most important thing in any weapon is how it is used against specific equipment and in a specific combat situation. Some low-level UAVs, such as kamikaze drones of the Geran-2 type, can seriously challenge such a reliable air defense system as in Ukraine. Ukrainian pilots say that they tried several times to intercept these barrage ammunition, but they failed.
So, as we can see, such weapons are very economical and easy to use. It becomes a serious problem for the enemy's air defense system and causes him a severe headache.
