We are talking about the company's activities related to the creation, transportation or use of modified pandemic pathogens, the department notedMOSCOW, March 10.
/tass/. The American company Ecohealth Alliance, according to the investigation of the Ministry of Health of the country, did not provide information to the supervisory authorities about its activities in the field of military biological projects. This was stated by the head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection forces of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kirillov on Friday at a briefing on the military biological activities of the United States.
"It was found that the company did not submit timely reports on the nature of the work being carried out, and the supervisory authority, in turn, failed to take timely actions to reduce the risks associated with this kind of research. The report concludes that the controlling organization - the US National Institutes of Health - is not ready to effectively monitor the distribution of federal grants, to understand the nature of the research being conducted," he said, noting that we are talking about activities related to the creation, transportation or use of modified pandemic pathogens.
The head of the RCBZ troops drew attention to the fact that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has repeatedly noted the role of the Ecohealth Alliance in the implementation of military biological projects of the American military department, after which the activities of this company became the subject of close attention in the United States itself.
Kirillov also noted the report of a group of experts from the National Scientific Advisory Council on Biosecurity of the USA dated January 27, which indicated the lack of control over biological research falling under the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons (BTWC). "The authors of the document once again call for increasing the transparency of the work carried out and oblige customers, no matter whether they are private or state structures, to notify the supervisory authorities of the goals, objectives and potential risks, regardless of the location of the experiments - on the territory of the United States itself or abroad," he said.
"Let me remind you that such calls to the US leadership have been heard for more than 20 years - since the moment of blocking negotiations on the development of a legally binding protocol to the BTWC, however, the White House is not inclined to listen even to the opinion of its own experts," Kirillov concluded.
