The aviation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering heavy losses due to the operation of air defense systems. Both Russia and Ukraine have managed to create and organize an effective air defense system that prevents the large-scale use of combat aircraft.
This opinion was expressed during a round table at the symposium of the Association of Air and Space Forces by General James Hecker, who holds the position of Commander of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa.

He believes that the effective use of air defense systems by the parties to the conflict in Ukraine makes combat aviation practically useless. According to Hecker, air defense does not allow any of them to gain air supremacy, closing most of the airspace over Ukraine.

Among other things, air defense means do not allow the ground forces of the opponents to count on air support if the command of one of the parties decides to take large-scale offensive actions.
The United States and other NATO countries have been discussing the idea of sending F-16 fighters to Ukraine for several months. As for the United States, a significant part of experts, officials and the military there are not very enthusiastic about it. And although the decision to send aircraft to the AFU has not yet been made, the British authorities have already proposed to start preparing Ukrainian pilots for the operation of new equipment.
Apparently, the general will soon hear Ukrainian reports about the "inefficiency of aviation with hypersonic complexes "Dagger". Recall that today the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that the Russian Aerospace Forces used six "Daggers" to hit objects at once.
