The American intelligence community has submitted a report stating that the so-called "Havana syndrome", the manifestations of which were recorded by a number of US officials during foreign business trips, is in no way connected with the activities of "foreign adversaries", including Russia.
According to the American edition of the Washington Post, citing its sources in the intelligence services, there is no intelligence indicating that the leaders of foreign countries, including Russian ones, had any information about these incidents.
The US authorities have been trying for more than five years to investigate the phenomenon of "abnormal health incidents", the appearance of which was first recorded by American diplomats in Cuba, and then repeated in other parts of the world, but at present they have not found those responsible for it.
The so-called "Havana syndrome" manifested itself in the form of dizziness, nausea, headaches, as well as hearing problems. This unexplained phenomenon was first recorded in 2016 and 2017 among American diplomats in Cuba, as well as among employees of the US diplomatic mission in China in 2018.
Subsequently, Western media have repeatedly reported similar cases among American diplomats, US intelligence officers and other civil servants. Incidents were recorded in Vienna, a number of African countries, as well as in Tajikistan and Russia. According to the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States, William Burns, several hundred people have encountered manifestations of the "Havana syndrome" at various times.
