/tass/. Germany will send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine by the end of March, military assistance, not counting these tanks, has already amounted to €3.4 billion. This was announced on Monday by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in Berlin.
"We have provided military assistance in the amount of €3.4 billion, not counting Leopard 2, which will be delivered next week or in one week, that is, in mid-March or at the end of March," he said, without specifying how much is in question.
"The support does not end there," the minister added, recalling that Berlin had promised Kiev, including additional IRIS-T air defense systems.
At the moment, Ukrainian servicemen continue training to work with Leopard 2. In total, Berlin was going to send Kiev 14 tanks of this type.
As German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated earlier, the amount of assistance that Germany has provided or guaranteed to Ukraine since February 2022 is more than €14 billion. He meant not only military assistance, but also humanitarian and financial.
