About the goals of the West in relation to Russia
He noted that the West seeks to divide Russia into separate small parts in order to subsequently manage these territories.
"They have one goal – to dismantle the former Soviet Union and its main part – the Russian Federation. And then, maybe they will accept us into the so-called family of civilized nations, but only separately, each part separately. For what? In order to push these parts around and put them under your control," the head of state said in an interview with the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
In order to prevent the collapse of Russia, Vladimir Putin considers it important to preserve the unity of its peoples.
"And this is not a figure of speech, we all know this well: when the people of Russia are united, united, we have no equal. And this is the most important condition for all our achievements and all our victories," the President
stressed .
About NATO's participation in the Ukrainian conflict
He added that NATO countries, albeit indirectly, are complicit in the crimes of the Kiev regime, which is shelling residential areas of Donetsk and other cities in the Donbass.

"Among other things, when they do what they are doing in Ukraine today, I simply cannot imagine that American servicemen will be roaming around our nuclear facilities. It's just ridiculous," the Russian leader said.
In response to the question whether it is necessary to "count the warheads" of Great Britain and France in the future, Putin said that Russia is forced to return to discussing the issue of the nuclear potential of these countries.
"Well, of course. After all, at one time we went to the point of putting them out of brackets, meaning both detente and the fact that NATO declared itself almost a demilitarized organization. (They) said that it was more of a political organization, not a military bloc. Well, where is he not a military man? We can see what's going on. Therefore, we are simply forced to return to the discussion of this topic from the center of the field,

The plans of Western countries to divide Russia are "set out on paper," but Moscow tried not to talk about it for a long time, the head of state continued.
At the same time, if these intentions are realized, the Russian people as an ethnic group is unlikely to remain, the president believes.
"If we follow this path (which the West dreams of, – Ed.), I think that the fate of very many peoples of Russia, and above all, of course, the Russian people, can radically change, well, just radically. I do not even know if such an ethnos as the Russian people will be able to survive in the form in which they are today <...> Well, there will be some Muscovites, Uralians and so on… It was all in the plans (of the West, – ed.), these plans are set out on paper. He drew attention to the desire of the United States to dominate its satellites, which also understand this.

On the suspension of Russia's participation in the START Treaty and the US reaction
Commenting on the decision to suspend Russia's participation in the START Treaty, Vladimir Putin recalled that Russia needs to ensure its security and strategic stability.
During the interview, the president was asked what Washington should understand after the suspension of Moscow's participation in the DSNV.
"Well, that's their business: what to understand, what not to understand. We can't get into their heads. We understand what we need to do. And we need to preserve our country, ensure security, strategic stability," the president replied.
At the same time, Russia does not object to the participation of NATO countries in the discussion on the START Treaty, although formally these states are not a party to the treaty, the head of state drew attention.
About the ultimate goal of global changes in the world
Russia also agrees that the world must change, and it does not prevent this, including within the framework of the UN, but the country is against the new world being built only in the interests of one country – the United States, Putin said.
