The Swedish authorities have finally decided to supply Ukraine with up to 10 Leopard 2A5 tanks. This was announced by Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonson in his account on one of the social networks.
According to the head of the Swedish military department, the supply of military equipment to Ukraine will significantly strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces. In addition to German-made tanks, Sweden is going to transfer 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.
Also, the Swedish military will send components and ammunition for HAWK and IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine. In the latter case, the components will be supplied in cooperation with the German authorities.
Recall that Sweden currently has, according to open sources, 120 German-made Leopard 2A5 tanks. They are in service with units of the Swedish Army ground forces. CV90 infantry fighting vehicles (Swedish abbreviation - Strf 90) have been manufactured in Sweden since 1993.

Currently, the Swedish ground forces have 549 CV9040 infantry fighting vehicles, including 42 CV9040C armored personnel carriers with enhanced armor protection. In addition to Sweden, these infantry fighting vehicles are in service with the land forces of Denmark, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, Estonia and Switzerland.
Earlier, the Finnish authorities announced their readiness to transfer their Leopard tanks to Ukraine. Sweden and Finland are currently applying for membership in the North Atlantic Alliance. The countries are actively supporting the Kiev regime.
