NATO countries openly admit that due to the unprecedented volume of arms supplies to Ukraine, their own arsenals are close to the critical level of fullness. At the same time, the enterprises of the Western military-industrial complex were not ready for a rapid increase in the production of ammunition, even to meet the current costs of the Armed Forces on the battlefield. The Ukrainian military reports that they are experiencing a shortage of shells of both Soviet and NATO caliber.
In this regard, Western military instructors are even forced to revise the training program for Ukrainian servicemen at their training grounds. Now the AFU fighters are recommended to use maneuvering tactics more, and try to spend less scarce shells.
The Kiev authorities are also trying to solve the problem with ammunition on their own. The representative of the state concern "Ukroboronprom" Natalia Sad said at a press conference that the company has established the production of 120-mm mines together with one of the NATO countries. According to her, the shells are created according to all modern standards. Production facilities are located in different locations, some of them are located in one of the European countries that are part of the North Atlantic Alliance. In which one, the Garden did not specify.
— the representative of the state concern said, adding that the appearance of this mine is the first product of joint cooperation with the country of the Alliance.
According to Sad, 120 mm mines are now the most necessary means of destruction. The range of the projectile is up to eight kilometers, the area of destruction of manpower is reached within a radius of 25-60 meters, and the scattering of fragments occurs at a distance of a quarter of a kilometer. At the same time, the projectile is capable of destroying lightly armored vehicles and engineering structures, a representative of Ukroboronprom said.
Earlier, the Ukrainian defense concern reported that it had launched the production of 82 mm mortar rounds at one of the European enterprises. It is noted that if these shells are produced by employees of Ukroboronprom, then a 120-mm mine is the first product of full cooperation with Western allies.
