/tass/. Ukrainian servicemen will arrive this week or next week in Spain for training in the management of Leopard tanks. This was stated on Tuesday by the kingdom's Defense Minister Margarita Robles, who is attending a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels.
She did not specify how many units of combat vehicles Madrid will transfer to Kiev, but clarified that we are talking about Leopard 2A4 models that have not been used for a long time and need to be restored. "During this week or at the beginning of the next, the Ukrainian military will arrive, who will be trained in Spain for the use of Leopard on the one hand, as well as maintenance [of these tanks]," the head of the department said on the 24 Horas TV channel.
Robles also noted that on February 16, another group of military personnel from Ukraine will arrive in Spain to "receive specialized training."
Earlier, the newspaper El País reported that Madrid would transfer from four to six Leopard tanks to Kiev.
