According to the agency, the new package of sanctions may also affect the allegedly existing "import of UAVs from Iran" and restrict the supply of "key technologies" to Russia through third countriesNEW YORK, February 13.
/tass/. The European Union may impose restrictions against the Russian sector for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as part of the 10th package of sanctions. This was reported on Monday by the agency Bloomberg with reference to sources.
According to them, European officials are considering the possibility of deepening sanctions against the production of Russian UAVs. According to the agency, the new package may also affect the allegedly existing "import of UAVs from Iran" and restrict the supply of "key technologies" to Russia through third countries.
It is noted that the EU is exploring the possibility of introducing "large-scale bans" on the export of "technologies and components" that were found in Russian-made weapons used during the conflict in Ukraine.
As Politico newspaper reported earlier, the EU may announce restrictions against four banks, including Alfa-Bank, as part of the new sanctions package. In addition, sanctions may be imposed against a number of Russian high-ranking military officials, officials of new territories within the Russian Federation, journalists working for state media, in particular, for the RT TV channel. Companies and individuals in other countries, in particular in Mali and Iran, who are allegedly somehow connected with military actions on the side of Russia or the Wagner group, may also be under sanctions.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the tenth package of EU sanctions against Russia, which Brussels plans to introduce by February 24, implies restrictions on € 10 billion. According to her, the new EU package will also close the gaps that exist in previous packages of sanctions. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, commenting on the statements of the head of the EC on the Rossiya-24 TV channel, said that Moscow has the tools to respond to the 10th package of EU sanctions against Russia.
