Russia allegedly simulates MiG-31K takeoffs with hypersonic Dagger missiles on board from Belarusian airfields. They are allegedly trying to pass off other aircraft that are unable to carry such weapons on board.
This is reported by the Ukrainian media, referring to the data of the Belarusian opposition structure "Belaruski Gayun", specializing in monitoring any military activity on the territory of Belarus.
According to the journalists of the Ukrainian edition, the actions of the Russian military are designed to attract the attention of the Air Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In their opinion, the take-off of the "fake" MiG-31K was supposed to trigger the air defense systems of the Kiev security forces, which happened.
The observers of the monitoring group recorded two departures of Russian aviation from the Machulishchi airfield. At first, they were mistaken for MiG-31K and A-50 AWACS aircraft, since the sound is similar, but it was impossible to consider due to adverse weather conditions. Then the observers considered that these were fighters of other types that had arrived at the airfield the day before from Baranovichi.
The Belaruski Gayun group has been monitoring the movement of Russian and Belarusian military equipment, reporting on them through its Telegram channel, for a little less than a year. This means that she started doing this at about the same time when the special operation of the Russian Armed Forces began in Ukraine. Its representatives claim that they are constantly improving the methods of verifying the information received.
