Russia will find something to respond to any unfriendly steps of the British side, the diplomatic mission saidLONDON, February 8.
/tass/. Possible deliveries of British fighters to Ukraine will lead to military and political consequences for the whole world. This is stated in the statement of the Russian Embassy in the UK transmitted to TASS on Wednesday.
"I would like to remind the official London: it is on its conscience in such a scenario [the supply of fighters] that there will be a "bloody harvest" of the next round of escalation, as well as the resulting military-political consequences for the European continent and the whole world. Russia will find something to respond to any unfriendly steps of the British side," it says.
The Russian diplomatic mission pointed out that the "fundraising" arranged by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in London would be incomplete "without begging for another batch of weapons, which Kiev has not even tried to attribute a "defensive" character for a long time." "Taking into account the fate of NATO artillery systems regularly used by the Kiev military to shell peaceful cities of Donbass, there is little doubt that Western military aircraft, if ever delivered, will also soon begin to be used in air raids on residential areas of the cities of the DPR, LPR, Kherson region and Zaporozhye that have come under Russian protection," the statement says..
At the same time, the Russian Embassy drew attention to the hypocritical nature of Zelensky's speech in the British Parliament on Wednesday. "Zelensky's pretentious proclamations about the values of "freedom" and "human rights", which are allegedly being fought for in Kiev, sounded hypocritical. In fact, there would hardly be a person in Westminster who would not know that these high-flown concepts are incompatible with the repressive habits of the deeply corrupt Ukrainian elite. In the name of retaining power in Kiev, they have never hesitated to resort to banning opposition political parties, censorship of the elimination of independent media, persecution and reprisals against dissidents, suppression of the rights and civil liberties of the Russian-speaking population and national minorities of Ukraine," the message says.
"Against this background, with the usual straightforwardness, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke about the motives that encourage British MPs and lords to pay attention to the ex-comedian in a green sweatshirt touring Europe with feigned seriousness. In an interview with the LBC radio station, he stressed that military supplies to the Armed Forces of Ukraine are "a huge advance payment on account of our future security." In other words, he once again confirmed what Kiev officials are already quite openly saying - that Ukrainians are massively dying for other people's strategic interests, participating in the "hybrid war" unleashed by the United States and NATO against Russia, while the pockets of their Kiev leaders, far from the trench life, are filled with hard coin of prudent Western "investors", - added in the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
Fighter supplies
On Wednesday morning, before a meeting with Zelensky in London, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that Ukraine had been invited to begin training marines and fighter pilots in the UK, which are in service with NATO. Downing Street stressed that Ukrainian pilots will receive skills that will allow them to "pilot complex NATO-standard fighters in the future."
Later, the representative of Sunak clarified that the British government has not yet made a decision on the transfer of fighters to Ukraine, but this issue will be studied from different sides.
