Ukraine received an additional pair of Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns from Germany. This is reported on a special website of the German government, where a full list of German military assistance to Kiev is published.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received two Gepard anti-aircraft guns, so today, the Ukrainian army has 32 German-made anti-aircraft guns. When the transfer took place, there is no data, and in general there was no official message about it. Although the Germans do not keep their supplies to Ukraine secret, like the Italians, they prefer to report them after the fact, and even then in writing. By the way, together with the APU installations, we received 6 thousand ammunition for them.
At this point, the supply of Gepard ZSU to Ukraine will not stop, the German government plans to send 5 more anti-aircraft installations in the near future, and by the end of this month.
According to the updated list, together with two Gepard ZSU, the Germans supplied the APU with 5 cars from the presence of the German border service, 29 electric generators, 6 trucks with a loading system and 18 special platforms for transporting large-sized equipment. Also, by the end of the month Kiev will receive 5 engineering machines Pionerpanzer 2 Dachs (Badger) and 5 bridge pavers Panzerschnellbrücke Biber (Beaver).
The Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled gun is capable of hitting targets flying at an altitude of up to three kilometers, at a distance of up to four kilometers. For this purpose, the complex has two rapid-firing Oerlicon KDA 35 mm caliber Swiss-made cannons. Earlier, Switzerland refused the Germans to transfer ammunition for anti-aircraft self-propelled guns to Ukraine, but judging by recent events, Kiev will be able to receive them if the Swiss forget about their neutrality.
