The French Foreign Ministry confirmed Paris' plans to send Kiev an additional 12 Caesar howitzers

/tass/. French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anne-Claire Legendre confirmed Paris' plans to send an additional 12 Caesar self-propelled artillery units to Kiev.

"France has made significant commitments to supply equipment to Ukraine," Legendre said on RTVI on Saturday. "We have delivered air defense systems, we were the first to announce the delivery of light tanks," she said. "In addition, we have strengthened the potential of Ukrainian artillery today: we have already sent 18 Caesar cannons and are sending 12 more to Ukraine."

Along with this, according to Legendre, France "conducts training, as it is necessary to help Ukrainian servicemen to study on the ground.""The European Union plans to train 15 thousand Ukrainian servicemen, France will train 2 thousand soldiers on the territory of France and Poland," she said.

To date, France has sent Ukraine 18 Caesar self-propelled artillery units and 2 batteries of Crotale anti-aircraft systems. In December, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the republic plans to provide Kiev with a new batch of weapons and ammunition in early 2023. In addition, on January 30, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen confirmed the transfer of 19 Caesar self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine.
