Outdated British-made Challenger 1 tanks can be sent to the armed formations of the Kiev puppet regime.
According to the Telegram channel of the bmpd blog with reference to the German edition of Handelsblatt, the well-known manufacturer of armored vehicles Rheinmetall offers to buy combat vehicles of this type for repair and further supplies of the Armed Forces.
Interestingly, the authors of this proposal have big problems with knowledge of geography, as they confuse Oman with the capital of Jordan - the city of Amman. It was in service with the army of this Middle Eastern kingdom for a long time there were Challenger 1, of which more than four hundred units were delivered there. At the beginning of this year, they were completely removed from service.
As noted by " RG: Russian weapons ", if such a deal is implemented, by the end of 2023, a "double-digit number" of tanks produced in the 80s can be transferred to the "hot spot".
Their combat weight is 62 tons. Armed with 120 mm rifled L11A5 guns with 64 rounds of ammunition, two 7.62 mm machine guns: paired and anti-aircraft.
The fire control system has a laser rangefinder, a ballistic calculator with sensors for recording firing parameters, and a thermal imager.
The engine power is 1200 hp. The maximum speed on the highway is 56 km/h. The power reserve is 400 km. The crew is 4 people.
Challenger 1 was considered the least successful among the third-generation NATO tanks. They took part in the operation against Iraq in 1991 and literally a few years later they began to be replaced with more advanced models.
