/tass/. France intends to transfer to Kiev an additional 12 self-propelled artillery units (ACS) Caesar, as well as train up to 2 thousand Ukrainian military before the beginning of this summer. This was stated by the Minister of the Armed Forces of France Sebastien Lecorny at a joint press conference with the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov.
"Following our conversation with Minister Reznikov and conversation with the President of France [Emmanuel Macron] I can inform you that we will be able to deliver an additional 12 Caesar self-propelled guns to Ukraine," he said.
The head of the defense department did not specify in what time the artillery installations could be delivered, noting only that their cost would be covered by the military assistance fund to Kiev in the amount of 200 million euros, organized by France. He also said that 150 French soldiers will be sent to Poland, who will train servicemen from Ukraine. It is expected that they will be able to train up to 600 Ukrainian military per month.
To date, France has sent Ukraine 18 Caesar self-propelled artillery units and 2 batteries of Crotale anti-aircraft systems. In December, Macron said that the republic plans to provide Kiev with a new batch of weapons and ammunition in early 2023.
