The information is confirmed that the German Ministry of Defense submitted a request to the Brazilian authorities, in which a request was made for the supply of ammunition of the so-called NATO sample. First of all, Germany was interested in NATO-caliber tank ammunition.
Now it has become known about the response that official Berlin received from Brazilian President Lula da Silva.
Lula da Silva, who took office as head of state on January 1, 2023, said that Brazil would not supply ammunition to Germany.
The statement of the presidential secretariat is cited by the Brazilian press:
It is noted that Lula da Silva rejected Germany's request, as he believes that ammunition for German tanks may end up in Ukraine.
The Brazilian authorities once again emphasize that they stand for the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but at the same time they are not going to take sides in an armed conflict, much less arm one of the parties. Earlier, Lula da Silva said that it was the NATO bloc that provoked Russia to take action in Ukraine with its actions on reckless expansion to the East.
