When recently they talk about self-propelled anti-aircraft guns in service with the armed formations of the Kiev regime, then, as a rule, they mean the Gepard ZSU. Made on the chassis of outdated Leopard 1 main battle tanks, they are supplied to the neo-Nazis by the German authorities.
As the Russian Weapons project notes, such air defense systems are far from the front line - they are trying to use them to fight cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, mainly kamikaze drones. According to various sources, more than three dozen units of such equipment have been delivered in total.
But there is no need to talk about any effective use, in most cases information about a chronic shortage of ammunition for them floats in.
However, Gepard is not the only type of vehicle of this purpose in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, previously there were also 2S6 "Tunguska" and ZSU-23-4 "Shilka" in service. They practically do not get into the lenses of photo and video cameras. Although in January last year, the press service of the Ukroboronprom concern reported on the transfer of several 23-mm anti-aircraft self-propelled guns to the troops.

It is likely that most of these weapons were destroyed by Russian planes and helicopters, but some, unfortunately, still remain. For example, one of the "Shilok" recently lit up. The militants use it not to counter the means of air attack, but for fire support. However, the video posted on the Network is more like a production: during the shooting, one of the crew members sticks out of the hatch to the waist. It is unlikely that he would do this if there was a real opponent in front of the car.
