A few days ago, a military parade dedicated to the Independence Day of Myanmar took place. During its holding, the MMT-40 light tank was presented for the first time, held in a group of three similar vehicles.
As a base, the MT-LBMSH – BMP of Ukrainian production is used, created on the basis of the Soviet MT-LB armored personnel carrier and unified with the platform of the 122-mm self-propelled gun 2S1 "Carnation". At the same time, a combat module of Chinese origin is installed on the MMT-40, the armament of which is represented by a 105-mm cannon and a 7.62-mm machine gun paired with it, as well as a 12.7-mm machine gun (a similar BM is installed on wheeled anti-tank systems of the PRC PTL-02 6x6).

It is unknown how many MMT-40s were produced in total. It is possible that the supplies were limited to the three units shown at the parade. Initially, that is, since 2014, the project to create these machines was developed jointly with the Ukrainian defense industry. However, in 2021, a government focused on military cooperation with Russia and China came to power in Myanmar.
Under these conditions, as well as taking into account the conflict with Nezalezhnaya, further production of the MMT-40 in cooperation with the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation is permissible, especially since the package of technical documentation on the light tank was transferred by the Kiev regime to Myanmar back in 2019.
