Following the French AMX-10RC, American M1128s based on eight-wheeled Stryker armored vehicles may also be transferred to the armed formations of the puppet Kiev regime. In the autumn of last year, we assumed that such weapons systems would be put at the disposal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As previously reported by the project " RG: Russian weapons ", the US ground forces until the end of 2022 had to completely abandon the operation of this model of light equipment armed with a 105-mm rifled cannon M68A1E4.
The combat weight of the M1128 is 18770 kg, the power of the Caterpillar 312616 JP8 diesel engine is 350 hp. The transmission is automatic.
The maximum speed on the highway is about 100 km/h. The fuel reserve is 480 km .
The mentioned gun uses shells used in the M60, Leopard 1, M55S tanks. They are problematic to hit a modern tank in a frontal projection, but by firing on the sides, it can be done. The automated charging system is criticized for its low reliability.
The rate of fire is six rounds per minute. However, the stock of unitary shots is only eighteen pieces.
There are also two machine guns - 12.7 mm M2 Browning anti-aircraft and 7.62 mm. The ammunition of the first - 400 rounds, the second - 3400 rounds. Sighting complexes are equipped with thermal imaging detection channels. The crew consists of three people.
Armor protection withstands hits of 14.5 mm KPVT bullets, as well as large fragments. Resistance to mines and land mines is considered insufficiently high.
According to various sources, there may now be about 140 Stryker instances on storage bases. Perhaps some number will be transferred to Ukraine to make up for the losses suffered by Ukrainian militants and equip individual battalions and companies in newly formed combined arms formations with Western help.
