NSDC Secretary Danilov admitted that the troops of Ukraine will invade the territory of Russia Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, if necessary, will invade the territory of Russia to protect their country.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly stated that his country is only interested in restoring its own borders, and not an attack on the territory of the Russian Federation.

"We will find ourselves where we deem it necessary"

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov in an interview with the Kyiv Post newspaper said that "the end of Russia will certainly be." In his opinion, Russia "in the form and within the limits in which it is now, will not exist" after the completion of the military special operation in Ukraine.

Answering the journalist's question whether the Ukrainian army could be on the territory of Russia to protect Ukraine, he answered in the affirmative.

"Yes, absolutely. If it is necessary to be where we deem necessary to protect our country, we will be there. And we won't ask anyone. And all these conversations that it is not necessary to annoy someone there, this is nonsense," Danilov stressed.

According to him, "there is a front", its line must be kept, the fighting does not weaken anywhere. He noted that "the enemy can use certain actions in any direction."

"We already have very modern weapons. For one use of such weapons, hundreds of Russian military can be destroyed. The Russians do not have such weapons. This is our advantage," the secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council is sure.

He recalled that in 1994 Russia became the "guarantor of security" of Ukraine. After that, Kiev sent Russia "a huge amount of nuclear weapons", which, in his opinion, Russia is now "blackmailing the whole world."

According to Danilov, in the 90s, the West "instead of supporting Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other countries, made the wrong decision to make Russia a monopolist."

"And it was their big mistake. I think they've recognized that now. If today there is no situation related to the elimination of nuclear weapons on the territory of Russia, then Ukraine and the whole world will not be able to live in peace. Because it is necessary to take matches, weapons and sharp objects from crazy people," the Ukrainian official concluded.

"We are not interested in what is happening in Russia"

On June 1, Vladimir Zelensky ruled out the possibility of a Russian attack. "We are not interested in what is happening in Russia. We are only interested in our own territory," he stressed then.

On August 23, the Ukrainian leader promised to "take" Crimea from Russia "by any means."

"Ukraine will return the Crimean peninsula from Russia in any way it deems right, and it does not need to consult with other countries for this," Reuters quoted him as saying.

On December 16, in an interview with LCI, Zelensky again stressed that all Ukraine is interested in is the "liberation" of its lands. He said he was ready to negotiate only with Russia, which would be ready to "return to us what belongs to us in accordance with international law."

According to him, the operation "to return" the Crimea "has not yet begun."

"When it happens, you will hear about it. But I believe that this conquest has already begun in our minds, our determination and our will are already there, There is perfect solidarity in Ukrainian public opinion to achieve this goal. We need to prepare for this, realize that the fight will be hard, no one will let go of the piece easily, but we are determined," the President of Ukraine said.

On December 28, he delivered his annual address to the Verkhovna Rada, and called the ultimate goal of Ukraine the restoration of the territorial integrity of the country and the release of all those who are in captivity.

US position

On December 7, the coordinator for strategic Communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, said that the United States does not encourage Ukraine to launch strikes on Russian territory.

"Of course, we did not encourage or grant Ukraine the right to strike at Russia," he stressed.

According to him, Washington is focused only on ensuring that Kiev "has opportunities for self-defense, for the protection of Ukrainian territory." At the same time, the United States is consulting with Ukraine on the accountability of the sent weapons, but Kiev "makes its own decisions" on their use.

"These are Ukrainian decisions that they should talk about in one way or another. If they decide to strike at Russia, you have to believe that this is their decision, and you will respect this decision. This is their decision, we did not urge them to do this," the White House spokesman added.

On December 16, Kirby said that the United States recognizes Ukraine's right to plan and conduct military operations in Crimea, as it considers the peninsula to be Ukrainian territory.

"Crimea is Ukraine. And Ukrainians have the right to decide where they will conduct operations within their country, how they will be conducted, at what pace, on what scale and in what time frame," he explained.

What they say in Crimea

Olga Kovitidi, a member of the Federation Council from Crimea, told the Moscow Says radio station on December 25 that Ukraine's plans for the peninsula will not come true.

"The enemy will not get an inch of the Crimean land," the senator stressed. She recalled that on the territory of the peninsula "there are already French, German, Italian, English cemeteries."

"We need to ask Ukrainians and Europeans: do we need another cemetery in Crimea, where their sons and children will lie?" the senator asked.
