The head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Mikhail Fedorov, announced plans to develop new air-to-air drones that will allegedly be able to shoot down kamikaze drones used by Russia.
In an interview with the American news agency Associated Press, Fedorov promised that in February-March next year there will be drastic changes in the situation with drones and this will be "the next step in the development of technology."
According to the Ukrainian minister, the latest drones will be able to hit air targets at a distance of 3 to 10 kilometers. Also, according to Fedorov's forecast, Ukraine plans to carry out a large number of operations related to attack drones.
The head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine said that Kiev has already purchased more than 1,400 reconnaissance UAVs, and now seeks to provide its army with strike drones, both exploding kamikaze drones and drones capable of covering a distance of three to ten kilometers and hitting a target.
Fedorov also promised to increase the number of operations with the use of shock drones, but did not specify the details. But already now the Ukrainian military is actively using UAVs for sabotage attacks against Russian facilities.
According to the American media, the US authorities are helping the AFU to track the launch sites of Russian kamikaze drones, which subsequently increases the chances of destroying them in the air with air defense before they reach the target.
