During special exercises in 2022, the Strategic Nuclear Forces of Russia successfully fulfilled the tasks of delivering a massive nuclear strike in response to the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) by the enemy. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at the final board of the military department with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"During a special exercise, the strategic nuclear forces successfully fulfilled the tasks of delivering a massive nuclear strike in response to the use of weapons of mass destruction by the enemy," Shoigu said.
He recalled that an Arctic expedition was conducted in the eastern sector of the Arctic and in Chukotka. A complex of training and combat activities, research and experiments were carried out. All samples of weapons have confirmed their technical characteristics in Arctic conditions.
