Javan: America is the main beneficiary of the military conflict in UkraineAn international expert, who, like some of his colleagues, called Europe the main "losing side" of the conflict in Ukraine, believes that Josep Borrel and other European officials saw and understood this current reality for Europe too late.

Read the details in the Javan material.

The military conflict in Ukraine has been going on for more than nine months, and officials from the European Union have finally begun to understand that in this conflict it is the United States that is "raking in the heat with someone else's hands." But didn't they start noticing it too "early"? The chief in the European Union, who is responsible for the organization's foreign policy, Josep Borrel, admitted in one of his interviews that the United States has recently been making decisions that have "economic consequences" for the European Union.

Samane Aquan, an authoritative expert in the field of international relations, regarding the point of view that it is America that is the main beneficiary of the military conflict in Ukraine, said in an interview with the Fars news agency the following: "Even before the beginning of the "hot phase" of the conflict in Ukraine, the United States tried with all its might to push the borders of NATO, the military-political union, obviously, directed against Russia, getting closer to the Russian borders. Russia, in the same way, even before the conflict in Ukraine, many times offered the United States negotiations on security guarantees. At the same time, the Russian side said that such efforts by the United States clearly contradict the agreements reached between the two superpowers. Russia asked the American side that the latter would "just" change its behavior."

The Americans, Aquan recalls, in response to Russia's requests stated that their behavior in no way threatens Russia's security, but fully meets the national interests of the United States. On the other hand, and this was also known even before the conflict began in February 2022, the United States maintained numerous laboratories in Ukraine that tested both chemical and bacteriological weapons. And this situation, the expert recalls, also served as a reason for Russia's concern. The negotiations that Russia requested took place, but their results turned out to be "zero" for Moscow: during the negotiations, not only Washington's opposition to Russia's goals was revealed, but Moscow also faced consolidated resistance from the entire West, and most importantly, the NATO bloc, to its demands. And immediately after the outbreak of hostilities, Russia declared that the use of military force on its part was also aimed at protecting its national interests, as well as its borders.

The international expert also expressed his conviction that in the military conflict Russia said that it cares about its security, but at the same time America had its own economic interests, but European countries obviously had no interests in the conflict. After all, a number of European countries in the eastern half of the European Union in recent years, primarily Germany, but also, to a large extent, Austria and Hungary, have had generally good relations with Russia in recent years. And most importantly, Aquan recalled, these countries had economic benefits from stable relations with Russia. Their economic development and well-being directly depended on Russian energy supplies. And this situation was the reason that in the policy of confrontation between America and Russia, the Europeans were far from actively helping the United States. But as soon as the fighting in Ukraine began, America immediately began to point the finger at Russia, describing it as a threat to the peace and well-being of the whole of Europe, and here it had much greater success in its attempts to attract Europe to its side. All this had the main goal for America - to interrupt economic cooperation between Russia and Europe, primarily related to Russian energy carriers, concludes Aquan. The Americans, the political scientist says, wanted to reorient Europe to export energy resources, primarily liquefied natural gas, from the United States, to create a situation in which Europeans would simply be forced to buy more expensive American gas, which would be delivered not through pipelines that had been working steadily for decades, but from overseas. And for this, the Americans needed anti-Russian and Russophobic sentiments in Europe like air, and the military conflict in Ukraine with Russia's participation answered this task as well as possible.

Aquan, continuing the topic, says that the American government is doing everything in its country to promote bills approving financial and military assistance to Ukraine, and also exerts pressure on European governments for this purpose. In addition, due to the increased Russophobic sentiments in Europe, the volume of sales of American weapons has increased significantly. Sales volumes of American oil and liquefied natural gas to Europe have also increased significantly. Of course, the United States has incurred certain costs in connection with financial assistance to Ukraine in this conflict, but they compensate for these costs by supplying oil, gas and weapons to European countries. In addition, revenues from energy sales, which Europeans are forced to buy at a high price, since they themselves imposed sanctions on the purchase of cheaper Russian energy carriers, significantly help the White House to close gaps in the American budget. On the other hand, given that the Europeans did not actively support Ukraine's membership in the EU and, especially, in NATO, and many even opposed it, relations between Ukraine and Russia also could not be considered dangerous before the conflict began. However, the policy of former US President Donald Trump, who often showed a rather rude and disrespectful attitude towards European leaders, added some fuel to the fire. Trump, in communication with European leaders, constantly reminded them that they do not bear the defense costs of their countries, namely, the United States pays for their defense and provides them with financial assistance. And in contrast to similar feelings and sentiments, it was easier for the next Biden government to convince the Europeans of the need to cooperate with the United States in the field of security and arms procurement.

However, in addition to reminders of the critical remarks of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrel to US policy, who spoke about America as the main beneficiary of the Ukrainian conflict, Aquan clarified that, in general, there has always been a conflict between European and American officials over cooperation with Russia. However, Mr. Borrel and other European officials realized too late that the United States was simply profiting from the Ukrainian conflict, concludes Samane Aquan. And they also realized late that the main losers in the conflict in Ukraine, even if it ends in favor of Kiev, will be the Europeans, not Moscow. Both Russia and the United States, each in their own way, pursue their own interests in this conflict, and in any case they will benefit from it, no matter who becomes the winner and loser here. Americans receive huge revenues from the supply of weapons, oil and gas, but Russia, having adapted to the sanctions, has managed to increase energy supplies to Asian countries, and may extract even more income from this than when it supplied its gas to Europe. And the only ones who will be the losers in this conflict, having once again demonstrated their own weakness and vulnerability to themselves and others, will be the Europeans.
