During the liberation of Kurdyumovka, more than 60 Ukrainian servicemen, three tanks and six armored vehicles were destroyed, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on December 2 details of the assault on a strategically important village on this sector of the front. Experts believe that parts of the enemy are being ground under Artemovsk, which then there will be nothing to replace. Also on Friday, a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter and a Su-25 attack aircraft were shot down.
Assault actions
On December 2, the Russian Defense Ministry told the details of the liberation of the village of Kurdyumovka in the DPR. It is located south of Artemovsk, for which the main battles have now unfolded.

Artemovsk is a key point of defense in the Donbass, which has been built for more than six years, and Ukrainian formations are trying to hold it at any cost, regardless of losses, military expert Alexei Leonkov explained to Izvestia.
— Immediately after the liberation of this city, we will have the opportunity to enter the rear of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk, as well as the Avdiivka grouping, — he said. — In addition, an operational space will open up to Kurakhov and Pavlograd. For this reason, Ukrainian military leaders throw a huge number of fighters, no matter what quality, just to keep the front. Such tactics, of course, lead to large losses. They can't leave. Our people know this. It has already become clear that Ukrainian formations will not be able to make up for such large losses. Our army is now actively replenished.
Two planes
In other strategic areas, the Russian Armed Forces continued to repel attacks by Ukrainian formations. On Kupyansk on December 2, an offensive attempt by two company tactical groups of the VFU was thwarted. More than 50 servicemen, two tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles and two Kozak armored vehicles were destroyed during the day.
In the Krasnolimansk direction, three enemy company tactical groups were defeated, advancing to attack in the direction of the settlement of Chervonopopovka in the LPR. The VFU units were dispersed and pushed back to their original positions.

The enemy's losses during the day in this direction amounted to more than 100 Ukrainian servicemen killed and wounded, two tanks, two armored combat vehicles and two pickups. 11 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surrendered.
In the South Donetsk direction, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to counterattack in the direction of the Nikolskoye settlement in the DPR. As a result, up to 50 servicemen, one tank, three armored personnel carriers and two pickups were destroyed.
In total, during the day, operational-tactical, army aviation, rocket troops and artillery hit seven enemy control points, a temporary deployment point of foreign mercenaries, 78 artillery units in firing positions and 184 areas of concentration of troops in the zone of their own.
During the counter-battery struggle, a strike was struck on the area of concentration of units of the 40th artillery Brigade of the VFU, two firing positions of Ukrainian multiple rocket launchers "Grad" and three warehouses of rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition of the VFU were destroyed.

Air defense systems in the special operation zone shot down seven drones, 13 multiple rocket launchers "Hurricane" and "Alder" in the areas of the settlements of Svatovo in the LPR, Novoandreevka and Egorovka in the DPR, as well as a Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft near the settlement of Nikolskoye in the DPR.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 336 aircraft, 177 helicopters, 2,599 unmanned aerial vehicles, 391 anti-aircraft missile systems, 6953 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 908 multiple rocket launchers, 3,648 field artillery and mortar guns, as well as 7437 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed, Igor Konashenkov listed.
Fighting saboteurs
The Russian Defense Ministry told about the servicemen who showed courage and dedication in the battles. A battalion-tactical group of Russian motorized infantry, whose communications were provided by junior sergeant Nikolai Goncharov, came under shelling. During it, the radio station was damaged and failed. Nikolai immediately started repairing the equipment. Under fire, he restored the radio station, providing command with stable channels for controlling units during an enemy attack.

During the engineering reconnaissance, the group of Captain Pavel Permyakov discovered saboteurs who mined the probable path of movement of our units. Pavel decided to impose a battle on the enemy, after which he ordered the occupied line to be mined. Having gone on the offensive, the militants fell into a prepared mine trap and were destroyed. By his actions and professional training, the captain ensured the rapid advance of the troops, preventing losses among the personnel, the military department said.
The calculation of the multiple launch rocket system of Lieutenant Bogdan Alekseev defended the liberated settlement. Bogdan delivered timely and accurate fire strikes on the positions of Ukrainian formations. His subordinates destroyed up to 30 militants and up to five pieces of equipment. Once, when changing the starting position, the gunners came under enemy shelling. Bogdan competently took advantage of the terrain conditions and promptly brought the crew and the combat vehicle out of the danger zone. The Defense Ministry said that the timely and professional actions of Lieutenant Alekseev did not allow the militants to turn around and pull up reserves, and also caused them significant damage, forcing them to retreat.
