"More visibility and comfort than in the T-72": Czech tankers transfer to Leopard 2

The Czech military, having handed over the T-72 MBT to the Kiev regime, will instead receive 14 Leopard 2A4 and one Mergepanzer BREM from German stocks until the beginning of 2023. Meanwhile, tankers are being trained at the Bundeswehr training ground in Munster. For training purposes, a special machine is used, which is equipped with a transparent cabin towering over the cannon, and is claimed to be technically equivalent to the Leopard 2A4.

Eight Czech tankers took German training courses. Now they will share the acquired skills with their colleagues at home. The German Defense Ministry hopes that as a result, the Czech army will completely say goodbye to Soviet equipment by switching to German products:

The Czech Republic plans in the medium term to exchange its entire fleet of T-72 for Leopard 2 - in the A7 version, common in Germany.

The need to switch to German tanks is explained by the task of unifying equipment according to NATO standards. Given the state of affairs in Germany itself, the Bundeswehr may soon need courses on the management of new equipment – Abrams tanks.
