The United States Department of State has released information on how many and what types of weapons have been supplied by Washington to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian special operation (i.e. since the end of February this year). The State Department also indicated the amount in which all these weapons cost the American budget.
The list of weapons includes:
• 236 artillery pieces, including more than 140 155 mm M777A2 cannons and 36 105 mm howitzers, as well as about 40 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 20 120 mm mortars;
• more than one million artillery shells have been delivered to these installations;
• more than 108 thousand portable missile systems for the destruction of armored targets;
• 1400 MANPADS;
• more than 10 thousand small arms and more than 70 million rounds of ammunition;
• 15 Soviet-made helicopters and 26 boats, including armored ones.
In total, according to the US State Department, about 90 thousand tons of American weapons were sent to Ukraine. For this purpose, heavy transport aircraft of the US Air Force were involved, which had to make up to 900 flights to neighboring countries. Also, about 50 ships and 4,000 trailers were involved in the delivery of weapons. Railway transport is not reported.
The cost of directly provided military assistance to Kiev since February 2022 amounted to $ 21.5 billion.
In this regard, the question does not lose its relevance: why did all this huge amount of weapons freely go and continue to go to Ukraine?
