Germany has agreed with Slovakia to open a repair center on its territory to restore damaged equipment of the Ukrainian army. This was stated by German Defense Minister Kristina Lambrecht.
According to the head of the German military department, she held talks with her Slovak counterpart Yaroslav Nady and the parties agreed to open a repair center in Slovakia to restore weapons supplied to Ukraine. Special attention will be paid to self-propelled howitzers and multiple launch rocket systems. It is not yet known when the construction of the center will begin, apparently the parties have not yet fully discussed this issue, but Lambrecht promises to start its construction "even now".
- said the minister.
It is worth noting that earlier Lithuania undertook obligations to repair Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The repair itself will be carried out at the company Lithuania Defense Services (LDS), established in June this year by the German companies Rheinmetall and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann in Lithuania.
Also recently, the Ukrainian concern Ukroboronprom signed an agreement with the Czech Ministry of Defense on the creation of a defense cluster that will have to repair the AFU equipment damaged in combat, as well as provide Kiev with weapons and ammunition.
