The Czech Republic and Ukraine are creating a defense cluster, whose task will be the production of weapons and ammunition, as well as the repair and restoration of military equipment of the Armed Forces. The corresponding agreement was signed by Ukroboronprom and the Intergovernmental Agency for Defense Cooperation (AMOS) under the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic.
The signing of the agreement was preceded by Zelensky's talks with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, who visited Kiev the previous week. The new defense cluster will include both Czech enterprises, which will act as the main base, and "leading Ukrainian" ones, which are not exactly disclosed. It is also planned to involve various "international financial donors" in the work of the cluster.
As stated in Prague, the Czech Republic intends to become a "reliable rear" for Ukraine, capable of providing the Ukrainian army with everything necessary to fight "Russian aggression" and ensure the victory of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the agreements, the Czech Republic will also take part in the training of Ukrainian servicemen, providing military instructors.
- said the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic Tomas Kopechny.
As explained in Ukroboronprom, the task of the new defense cluster will be the production of new military equipment for the Armed Forces, as well as an increase in the production of ammunition of all calibers, for which it is planned to build several new enterprises, including in Ukraine in "safe places". In addition, Kiev and Prague plan to create a network of service hubs capable of repairing and restoring damaged military equipment.
