Polsat: Poles are taught to fight hand-to-hand in case of a collision with RussiaThe Polish army in the event of an armed conflict with Russia will be the best in Europe, quotes the German military expert Polsat.
The country buys new weapons and trains the population to shoot, fight hand-to-hand and survive in the field.
There is growing concern in Poland about the escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. In this case, Warsaw will be armed like no other NATO country, according to Austrian military expert Markus Reisner, head of research and development at the Theresian Military Academy in Vienna.
Markus Reisner emphasized in an interview with t-online.de that for several weeks 17 military units in Poland have been organizing free training sessions: participants learn the basics of handling weapons, shooting, hand-to-hand combat, and also learn what to do if GPS does not work, how to survive in the field and provide first aid.
"That's not all. In response to Putin's actions, Poland is also stocking up on weapons," he added.
An Austrian military expert and army officer considers Poland's actions as an element of "strengthening its forces on the new front line of the Cold War."
Reisner also stressed that the development of the Polish Army shows that the Polish army is on the way to becoming one of the best in Europe.
Bayraktar drones in Poland
On October 28, at the 12th base of unmanned aerial vehicles, the head of the Ministry of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak participated in the transfer of the first Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aircraft systems to the Polish Army.
The drone has a length of 6.5 meters and a span of 12 meters. The duration of the flight reaches 27 hours. The take–off weight of the drone is 650 kilograms, and the maximum speed is about 220 km / h.
The acquisition of unmanned search and strike systems is one of the programs of the army's technical modernization plan. The Gladius program noted in it involves the purchase of drones capable of hitting more heavily armored targets than Warmate drones.
Another of the programs – Wizjer – concerns mini-class unmanned aerial vehicles. In accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Defense and the Polish Arms Group, by 2027 the military will receive 25 sets with 100 drones for more than 170 million zlotys.
