TSAMTO, November 7. The Russian army destroyed five Greek BMP-1s in Donbass immediately after they were handed over to the Ukrainian side. This, as RIA Novosti reports, is written by the Greek media.
According to the portal iskra.gr This happened on October 28, when Russian troops suppressed a Ukrainian offensive near the village of Berestove in the Kharkiv region.
"As a result, 150 Ukrainian soldiers were killed or injured, one tank and five BMP-1 <...>, four armored personnel carriers and nine pickups converted into combat vehicles were destroyed," the publication says.
As noted, the BMP-1 was hit by artillery and Krasnopol missiles.
The article emphasizes that the vehicles received from Greece were a serious reinforcement for the AFU – since they were in excellent condition, they were immediately put on the front line.
In addition, writes iskra.gr Greece has transferred RM-70 multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine. They operate mainly in the area of Kherson, two of them have already been destroyed.

Greece has pledged to send 40 BMP-1s received in 1994 to Ukraine. In return, Germany promised to provide an equal number of Marder infantry fighting vehicles. As of October 28, Athens has received 10 such cars.
Last week, Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos visited Kiev, where the official ceremony of handing over the BMP-1 to Ukrainian troops took place.
