The commander-in-chief of the Swedish armed Forces, Mikael Buden, advised against introducing new restrictions before the country's accession to NATO. His recommendations also concern prohibitions on the deployment of nuclear weapons. This was reported by Radio Sweden.
"He (Buden) adds that the establishment of restrictions even before joining NATO will only create obstacles and friction," she told Radio Sweden. The radio station's message also says that Buden does not want Sweden to join NATO "with reservations" on the deployment of nuclear weapons.
Finland and Sweden have applied to join NATO because of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. All the participating countries voted for the countries to join the alliance, except Turkey and Hungary.
