During the special military operation, the crews of helicopters of the army aviation of the Western Military District (ZVO) continue to carry out tasks to destroy armored vehicles and military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). During the execution of the next task, one of the helicopters had an on-board defense system, the crew maneuvered and successfully escaped from enemy fire. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to Dmitry, the crew commander of the Mi-35 helicopter, they perform the tasks of escorting and covering ground columns, as well as destroying live, armored force. As a result of regular combat missions, camouflaged command posts and armored vehicles of the AFU units were destroyed.
All flights take place at an extremely low altitude — up to 7 m, however, just before the forest belt, the combat vehicle sharply lifts its nose, gaining altitude, the military stressed.
"We work from long distances so as not to come close to the contact line with the enemy. In one of the flights, we also received coordinates, prepared and went to strike. After they worked out, it was worked out with MANPADS for us. We performed a maneuver, hid behind the terrain," he said.
After completing the flight task, the engineering and technical staff immediately carries out the charging of aviation weapons, refueling and preparation of aviation equipment for re-departure.
As the Ministry of Defense added, there are 20 unguided shells under each wing of each helicopter. Helicopters can be equipped with several guided missiles to destroy heavy armored vehicles. Rebooting the kit, at the same time, has to be done several times a day.
The high consumption is due to frequent departures. Incredibly fast and maneuverable Mi-35s appear unexpectedly, bring down all their might on the enemy and disappear as if they never existed.
Now on the front line it is one of the most effective means of supporting Russian military forces. The Mi-35 is one of the main striking forces of army aviation, whose missiles should suppress the offensive, destroy another tank, armored personnel carrier, mortar crew that is trying to get too close to Russian positions.

The day before, the Defense Ministry reported that the crew of the MiG-31 fighter destroyed the Su-24 aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During one of the sorties, the crew found an aerial target. After confirming the control point that the target is an enemy aircraft, an air–to-air missile was launched.
The special military operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, continues. The decision to hold it was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
