The Russian armed forces on Wednesday continued to strike with high-precision long-range air and sea-based weapons at the military control and energy systems of Ukraine.
— All designated facilities have been hit, — said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
An air alert was declared throughout Ukraine. Explosions were recorded in Kiev, air defense was working. According to eyewitnesses in social networks, the strike was carried out not only by cruise missiles, but also by the Geran-2 UAV. After them, electricity was lost in some areas of the city.

The Zaporozhye authorities announced a strike on a critical infrastructure facility in one of the villages of the region, a fire broke out at the facility. On October 19, the enemy tried to attack in several strategic directions. Units of the 60th Infantry and 35th Marine Brigades of the VFU, as well as formations of mercenaries "Foreign Legion" were hit by missile strikes of the Russian Aerospace Forces at Nikolayev-Krivoy Rog. In just a day, more than 120 servicemen and mercenaries, eight armored combat vehicles and 12 vehicles were destroyed in this direction, the Defense Ministry said.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Armed Forces inflicted a fire defeat on units of the 14th and 92nd mechanized brigades of the VFU, as well as foreign mercenaries. More than 40 Ukrainian servicemen, four armored combat vehicles and three pickup trucks were destroyed.
In the Krasno-Limansky direction, an attempt by the VFU to force the Zherebets River was thwarted. More than 30 servicemen, three armored fighting vehicles and two cars were destroyed.
During the day, operational-tactical, army aviation, missile troops and artillery of Russia hit seven control points, 64 artillery units in firing positions, three ammunition depots, 156 areas of concentration of troops. Two launchers of the Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system were also destroyed in the areas of the settlements of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region and Novoelizavetovka, Odessa region.
