This was announced on Wednesday, October 19, by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"As a result of the active actions of the Russian troops guarding the outer perimeter of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the enemy landing was destroyed. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 90 Ukrainian servicemen and 14 boats," the department's summary published in the Telegram channel says.
It is noted that the remnants of the landing were scattered by artillery fire in the water area of the Kakhovsky reservoir.
In addition, Ukrainian militants fired 13 shells at the northern outskirts of Energodar and the territory adjacent to the station. The AFU's firepower was suppressed by the Russian army.
Earlier in the day, the chairman of the movement "We are together with Russia" Vladimir Rogov said that last night a large group of landing boats crowded with special operations forces militants left the southern district of the city of Zaporozhye and other directions. Also with them was a large loaded vessel. After the shelling of the city, an attempt to land troops began, including with the aim of capturing the Zaporozhye NPP. Rogov added that the battle went on for at least three hours, the landing attempt was repulsed.
Residents of Energodar told the Izvestia correspondent that Ukrainian troops attempted to pass towards the city on motorboats. According to them, the attempted attack by the APU was repelled. The Russian military sank some of the boats, and another part was expelled from the territory. As a result, the militants had to retreat.
At the same time, on Wednesday, the head of the city, Alexander Volga, said that Ukrainian nationalists had struck at the administration and civil infrastructure of the Energodar from the American MLRS HIMARS. As a result of the missile strike on the Luch substation, the city was completely de-energized, and residents were left without electricity.
The building itself was seriously damaged. Window frames were knocked out at the substation, the glazing was broken, the walls were cut with fragments. The bridge at the entrance to Energodar was also damaged. There was no information about the victims.
Russia continues its special operation to protect Donbass, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the 2014 coup in Ukraine. The decision to hold it was made on February 24 against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the shelling of Ukrainian troops.
