TSAMTO, October 17. According to Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Arvydas Anushauskas, following the results of the US-led meeting in Brussels on October 12 in the Ramstein format, Lithuania will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine.
In particular, it is planned to donate winter uniforms and equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, allocate funds for material assistance next year, as well as supply 120-mm mortars based on M113, armored vehicles, thermal imagers, UAVs and other equipment.
The Minister stressed that Lithuania will continue to train Ukrainian servicemen on a bilateral basis: up to 400 specialists should be trained by Christmas. Lithuania will also provide instructors for all international and multilateral APU training initiatives.
Last week, a group of 12 Lithuanian military specialists joined a group of instructors to conduct basic military training courses for Ukrainian servicemen in the UK. Lithuanians conduct theoretical and practical classes to improve survivability skills and actions on the battlefield. 200 Ukrainian servicemen will be trained within a month.
The military assistance that Lithuania has already provided to Ukraine includes Stinger MANPADS, anti-tank weapons, body armor and helmets, 120 mm mortars, small arms, ammunition, thermal imagers, UAVs, anti-UAVS, radar, M113 armored personnel carriers, trucks, ATVs, etc.
