"Izvestia" showed the work of drones in the DPR under the leadership of the VVO scoutsIzvestia correspondent Kirill Olkov captured the work of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) under the guidance of intelligence officers of the Eastern Military District (VVO).
As the journalist noted, a fragmentation ammunition for the AGS-17 grenade launcher is previously attached to the device. Then the controlled drone flies out of the ambush. There is only an hour to complete the task due to the battery charge. However, according to the correspondent, this is enough to get to the camouflaged positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and return back. The entire flight is fully controlled by the operator.
"As part of the reconnaissance units, we very often use unmanned aerial vehicles to deliver pinpoint strikes to the enemy on lightly armored and on manpower with the help of mines that we throw off from the drone suspensions. The enemy is constantly trying to gain a foothold, that is, it carries out a lot of excavation work, and we do not allow it to carry out these works in full," said a senior scout of the artillery division with the call sign "Gorny".
According to him, as soon as the servicemen notice movement in the trenches at enemy strongholds, they immediately send UAVs.
Correspondent Olkov clarified that the enemy will not be able to escape, since no shelter will save from an air strike. At the same time, air patrols control all enemy movements and strike precisely at the positions of the APU. According to the journalist, the affected area is more than 20 m.
In addition, artillery and ground groups are also connected to air strikes, which conduct targeted fire on enemy heavy equipment and deliver finishing blows.
Scouts use F-1 and RGD-5 grenades to defeat lightly armored APU equipment from a drone.
After completing the combat mission, the ground groups disguise themselves, and the combat drones return back to prepare for the next flight.
Earlier, on October 15, the Russian Lancet strike drone eliminated the S-300 air defense complex of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction. After the UAV hit, the air defense ammunition detonated.
Meanwhile, on October 4, calculations of multifunctional drones "Orlan-10" prevented the offensive of Ukrainian saboteurs. It is noted that during the special operation, UAVs conduct round-the-clock aerial reconnaissance to identify the enemy, as well as to warn their troops.
Prior to that, on September 15, the military commander of Izvestia, Valentin Trushnin, demonstrated the work of drones in the Ugledar direction. It was reported that Ukrainian militants are actively using dummies and creating false targets to cause artillery fire on them.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
