China needs to strengthen security in the nuclear and space spheres, as well as in areas of key infrastructure, said General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Chinese President Xi Jinping at the 20th Party Congress.
The twentieth CPC Congress is being held in Beijing from October 16 to 22 with the participation of almost 2.3 thousand delegates from all over China. The Congress will be a summing up of the results of the five-year work of the party, the formulation of new goals to which the country will strive for the next five years. In addition, the congress will elect a new composition of the central committee and the CPC central commission for discipline inspection.
After the end of the congress, the first plenum of the CPC Central Committee of the 20th convocation will be held, which will appoint the top leadership of the party - members of the Politburo and the Politburo Standing Committee.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that China did not rule out the use of force in resolving the Taiwan issue.
