"De-escalation requires a lot of sobriety when choosing words," Lekornyu said, commenting on the arguments of representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union about the response in the event of the use of nuclear weapons. "This rule should apply to the leaders and especially those States that possess nuclear weapons."
The Minister drew attention to the principles of the French nuclear doctrine. "This doctrine, as French President Emmanuel Macron reminded us, is exclusively defensive, clear and predictable," Lecornu said.
