Drones on the attack
The DPR and LPR troops, with the fire support of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, continued the offensive in several directions and liberated the villages of Opytne and Ivangrad. These settlements are adjacent to the southern outskirts of Artemovsk — a major transport and railway hub, it follows from the message of the DPR defense headquarters. In other strategic areas, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation successfully repelled the attacks of Ukrainian formations.
— In the Mykolaiv-Krivoy Rog direction, the AFU units conducted offensive operations by forces of up to two battalion tactical groups to the settlements of Pyatikhatki, Kostroma, Bezvodnoye and Pravdino of the Kherson region. Successful actions of the Russian troops repelled all attacks. More than 110 Ukrainian servicemen, 21 armored combat vehicles and 12 special vehicles were destroyed, — said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy tried to attack the settlements of Orlyanka and Kotlyarivka in the Kharkiv region with the forces of two companies. All attacks are repelled. The losses of the VFU amounted to more than 50 Ukrainian servicemen, three tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles and seven units of automotive equipment.
In the Krasnolimansky direction, regular attempts by the VFU to force up to two battalion tactical groups to force the Zherebets River were stopped. The enemy was dispersed by the fire of Russian artillery and army aviation and retreated. Two tanks, five infantry fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks and about 60 servicemen were destroyed, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The Russian military department on Thursday published video footage of the successful use of UAVs by airborne troops in this sector of the front. Self-propelled artillery howitzers, armored personnel carriers manufactured by NATO countries, tanks and other weapons used by the VFU were attacked.

— These UAVs are one of the indisputable discoveries of the SVO, — he told Izvestia. — At this stage, they have shown themselves exceptionally well. Powerful devices go at extremely low altitudes, are not suppressed by means of electronic warfare and with high accuracy fall into those objects to which they are directed. I think they will be used more and more at the front.
Aerial combat
During the day, operational-tactical, army aviation, missile troops and artillery of Russia hit four control points, five ammunition depots and rocket and artillery weapons, 52 artillery units in firing positions and 164 areas of concentration of troops, the Russian military department reported.
In an air battle, fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a MiG-29 of Ukraine near the settlement of Chervoniy Zaporozhets, Dnipropetrovsk region. Another Su—27 aircraft was shot down by Russian air defense in the area of Porskalevka, Poltava region.

In addition, Russia's air defense shot down 12 unmanned aerial vehicles, 16 shells of the American HIMARS MLRS and Ukrainian "Alder" in the areas of the settlements of Troitskoye in the LPR, Chernobayevka, Korsunka, Novoraysk, Kakhovka, Antonovka, Novaya Kakhovka of the Kherson region during the day. 20 Russian servicemen were returned from the territory of Ukraine controlled by the Kiev regime, the Russian military department reported. All those released are provided with the necessary psychological and medical assistance. In the future, they will be taken to medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense for treatment and rehabilitation.
Belgorod under fire
Ukrainian troops shelled Belgorod, the air defense system was working, the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said on September 13. Destruction was recorded in a residential apartment building on Gubkin Street. According to him, there are no victims of a rocket hitting a residential building.
"We also received information that the unexploded part of the projectile fell on the sports ground of Lyceum No. 32," Gladkov wrote in his Telegram channel.

Footage has appeared on the Internet showing how the rocket fragments fall into the upper technical floor of the tower, destroying part of it. A utility building next to a high-rise building was also damaged, and several cars parked nearby were damaged by the fallen debris of the building.

Fire support
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation told about the servicemen who showed courage and dedication in the battles.
During the liberation of the settlement, the battalion tactical group of Corporal Denis Sheverev encountered fierce enemy resistance. Denis personally destroyed the machine-gun crew of the militants holding the road junction under control. This ensured the rapid progress of our units in a given direction, the military department noted.
The self-propelled artillery division of Corporal Sergei Shtrykov supported the advancing units. With targeted fire, Sergei destroyed up to 30 militants, creating a gap in their defensive line. Then he moved the gun to a reserve position, eliminating its defeat by return artillery fire.

— Sergey Shtrykov's courage, professionalism and bravery made it possible to fulfill the firing tasks assigned to the gunners and ensure the offensive of Russian units, — the Russian military department stressed.
The howitzer self-propelled artillery division of Sergeant Denis Petukhov supported motorized rifle units engaged in fierce battles. Despite the constant shelling, Denis destroyed three pieces of automotive equipment and up to 35 nationalists.
Sergeant Alexander Gafurov led the supply column, which was attacked by a group of Ukrainian saboteurs. Having assessed the situation, the sergeant ordered to take up the defense. During the clash, he killed three militants, who eventually retreated. Gafurov's courage, heroism and professionalism made it possible to preserve stocks of material assets and deliver them to the positions in a timely manner, the department said.
