The commander of the training group for operators of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ninth Regiment of the People's Militia of the DPR with the call sign Tarik told RIA Novosti about the main methods of fighting against enemy drones.
So, as part of the special operation, both "drone guns", which are currently in short supply, and an air ram are used. The interlocutor of the agency noted that he knows several successful examples.
"I know cases — the guys went to the ram, and managed to keep their "bird", but at the same time shoot down the "bird" of the enemy. You need a certain trajectory to do this. We have craftsmen," Tarik said.
He noted that drone operators are not yet taught the techniques of aerial ramming due to the lack of training drones.
The training group of UAV operator pilots was formed from mobilized recruits of the DPR and servicemen of the ninth regiment who already have combat experience. Classes are held at one of the DPR training grounds in conditions close to combat.
