The Ministry of Defense has released footage of the work of the intelligence unit of the second Army Corps of the People's Militia of the Luhansk People's Republic during a special military operation (SVO).
Operating in a wooded area, the scouts use small-sized unmanned aerial vehicles to open the positions of the Ukrainian military at the forefront, determine the most important directions for the attack and link the data obtained to the terrain map.
"Today, the main task is to open the front edge of the enemy for further destruction and advancement of our troops. The senior of the group set a task, our group in full assembly moved forward to perform. We moved into the area of the gray zone, raised the technical means, found nothing, moved closer and noticed the enemy," said the commander of the reconnaissance group.
While performing combat missions during the SVO, the scouts captured dozens of samples of foreign-made weapons, mainly from NATO countries, which are used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Among the trophies are anti—tank and portable anti-aircraft missile systems, mortars, grenades, various mines, quadrocopters and communications equipment.
"There are a lot of subtleties: a clock raid is necessary. The enemy disguises himself very well, hides himself, drives into forest belts. It is necessary to look through every trail, every trail that leads and everything that can give them away. The enemy basically does not move during the day," the operator of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) noted.
The coordinates of the identified fortified firing points, armored vehicles and enemy manpower accumulations are immediately transferred to the artillery units of the Allied forces, which strike at them.
Earlier, on October 12, it was reported that the AFU seriously lost manpower and military equipment near the village of Torskoye in the LPR. It was noted that in the last three days alone, gunners and reconnaissance units of the Russian military jointly eliminated about 200 nationalists, and also disabled several dozen units of military equipment.
Prior to that, on October 9, the Russian military hit a cluster of military equipment and personnel of Ukrainian militants near the city of Kremennaya controlled by the Luhansk People's Republic. It was reported that the intelligence of the group "Brave" with the help of a thermal imager found a cluster of equipment and personnel of Ukrainian nationalists.
In addition, on October 4, the Ministry of Defense released footage of the successful operation of multifunctional unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Orlan-10" of the Western Military District, which allowed the destruction of the sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) of the Ukrainian troops.
Russia continues its special operation to protect Donbass, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the 2014 coup in Ukraine. The decision to hold it was made on February 24 in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the shelling of Ukrainian troops.
