The Russian Defense Ministry on Thursday, October 13, published footage of the combat work of calculations of self-propelled anti-tank missile systems "Sturm-S" of the Southern Military District (SE) in the zone of a special military operation.
As noted by the Defense Ministry, military personnel in the zone of a special military operation successfully inflict and destroy armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) using self-propelled anti-tank missile systems "Sturm-S". The anti-tankers of the Southern Military District (SE) support the units during the offensive, and also reflect the counterattacks of the AFU units using tanks and armored vehicles.
"We have to work out two or three times a day on different lines as part of two calculations. As part of two calculations, it was possible to stop the enemy's attack on one of the frontiers. One calculation struck two armored units of the enemy," said the commander of the anti—tank calculation "Sturm-S" Dinar.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the fighting, calculations of anti-tank missile systems destroy APU tanks, armored objects, long-term firing points and other engineering structures. It is noted that the personnel constantly uses the folds of the terrain to hide their positions and effectively defeat ground armored vehicles, as well as low-flying air targets of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"We are working on DOT-am (wood-earth firing point. — Ed.) with high-explosive missiles, on armored vehicles, armored vehicles of the enemy, we work with shaped charges. We are also working on low—flying enemy planes and helicopters whose speed is less than the speed of sound or the flight of a rocket," said the commander of the ATGM "Sturm-S" calculation.
The Ministry of Defense clarifies that the Sturm-S self-propelled anti-tank missile system is a multi-purpose vehicle. It is used to destroy tanks and other enemy armored vehicles, is capable of successfully hitting manpower and field fortifications, as well as low-speed low-flying air targets. As the main base for the combat vehicle, the MT-LB multi-purpose light armored tractor transporter, which has proven itself in the troops, is used.
Earlier, on October 12, Izvestia correspondent Alexander Safiulin showed how servicemen strike at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with MT-12 Rapier anti-tank guns.
On October 11, the correspondent of the Izvestia TV channel, Semyon Eremin, told how the Allied troops were crushing the enemy in the Belogorovsky direction . The servicemen identified a number of enemy targets near the Lugansk village of Belogorovka with the help of drones. The soldiers of the Archangel Michael battalion 1539 and a separate tank battalion inflicted a fire defeat on the nationalists from a T-80 tank, which was firing from closed positions. An anti-tank missile system was also involved.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which the Russian President announced on February 24, continues. The decision to hold it was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
