/tass/. Malfunctions exist on the International Space Station (ISS), they reduce the effectiveness of the scientific program. This was announced by the Director General of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov to journalists on Thursday.
"Malfunctions, unfortunately, are present, a lot of time is spent on their elimination. The effectiveness of scientific research is falling because of this. This is also recognized by American colleagues," Borisov said.
According to the head of Roscosmos, there are various kinds of technical committees, including Russian specialists. They solve issues with the functioning, operability, and provision of the station.
On July 28, Borisov, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that the decision on Russia's withdrawal from the ISS project after 2024 had been made, while all obligations to partners would be fulfilled. On July 29, on the air of the Rossiya-24 TV channel, the head of Roscosmos explained that the exact date of Russia's withdrawal from the ISS program would depend on the state of the station.
Borisov later told reporters that cooperation on the ISS project will depend on the technical condition of the station, with a high degree of probability it will last until 2028.
