The head of Tesla, Elon Musk, presented a prototype of a humanoid robot Optimus worth 20 thousand dollars. This is reported by Reuters.
A test prototype without an external body came on stage, waved to the audience and danced a little dance.
According to Musk, the robot was developed in February 2022. He showed a video in which the prototype performs simple tasks, such as carrying boxes, watering flowers or lifting metal rods at a factory in California.
The presented sample, according to the head of Tesla, is more perfect and close to the one that the company plans to put into production. In a few weeks, Musk claims, the robot will be able to walk on its own. "I think Optimus will be incredible in five or ten years, just stunning," he said.
It is reported that the price of the model will be 20 thousand dollars (more than one million two hundred thousand rubles). The robot will weigh 73 kilograms. Its equipment will include a 2.3 kW/h rechargeable battery, a system of microchips and actuators for controlling limbs. Musk expressed hope that Tesla will start accepting orders for Optimus in the next three to five years.
Earlier, Elon Musk said that the Cybertruck electric pickup will be "sufficiently" waterproof to have the ability to cross small bodies of water. According to him, it will be possible to swim small rivers, lakes and even seas by car.
