In 2023, it is planned that the bark "Kruzenshtern", which is under repair, will also conduct a full-fledged navigation in the interests of the practice of cadets of Rosrybolovstvo educational institutionsKALININGRAD, September 18.
/tass/. The Russian training sailing vessel Sedov set off on Sunday for the next, third voyage of navigation in 2022, Irina Obraztsova, head of the press service of the Baltic State Academy of the Fishing Fleet, who is the operator of the barque, told TASS.
It was originally planned that the flight would start on September 16. But on this day, a strong wind was recorded, which became an obstacle to the safe passage of the vessel through the Kaliningrad Sea shipping Channel. Because of this, there was a delay in the launch of the barge from the port until the evening of September 18.
"From Kaliningrad on board the Sedov, cadets of Rosrybolovstvo educational institutions from Kerch, Murmansk and Kaliningrad went on a sea voyage across the Baltic. During the month, they will have to perform training tasks of swimming practice, improve the skills acquired in classrooms and classrooms on the shore," she said.
Earlier it was reported that the Sedov's second voyage, which ended on August 7, was the last in navigation-2022 of a training sailing vessel. "There is an opportunity to organize a third voyage to continue the training of naval practice of cadets, without which it is impossible to comprehend all the subtleties of the future profession. And this opportunity was used," Obraztsova explained, noting that another sailing vessel, the operator of which is also the BGA, the bark Kruzenshtern is under scheduled repair and it is planned that in 2023 it will already conduct full navigation, make voyages in the interests of the practice of cadets of educational institutions of Rosrybolovstvo.
During the two voyages of navigation-2022, the route of which was also laid along the Baltic, about 260 cadets from Astrakhan, Yeysk, Kaliningrad, Kerch, Murmansk and St. Petersburg passed the sea practice on the Sedov barge. The second voyage was particularly significant for the ship's crew and cadets: the famous sailboat took part in the Main Naval Parade in honor of the Day of the Russian Navy, which took place on July 31. The bark, which from the late 50s to the mid-60s of the last century was an expeditionary oceanographic vessel of the USSR Navy, rightfully deserved a place in the parade formation of warships and vessels on the Kronstadt raid.
The Sedov sailboat, which turned 100 years old in 2021, was launched at the shipyard in Kiel (Germany), originally it was called Magdalena Winnen II. Following the results of World War II, in accordance with the decision of the Potsdam Conference on reparations, the ship was transferred to the Soviet Union and renamed Sedov in honor of the polar explorer Georgy Sedov. The bark was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest surviving training sailing vessel. Its length was 117.5 m, displacement 7,320 tons, crew - 240 people, sail area - almost 4.2 thousand m. Sedov owns the official world speed record for sailboats of this class, which is 18.32 knots.
The Sedov bark made a circumnavigation of the world in 2012-2013, which lasted 14 months. Sedov is a participant of the 2019-2020 round-the-world expedition dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian sailors and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The sailboat also made a transarctic passage along the Northern Sea Route in an autonomous voyage from Vladivostok to Murmansk, which is a unique event for vessels of this class.
