The Polish OSU-35k naval artillery system can become the basis for a ground-based self-propelled air defense system

Company PIT-RADWAR (Poland), part of the holding Polskа Grupа Zbrojeniowа (PGZ), presented at a meeting in the Polish city of Kielce arms exhibition MSPO 2022 naval weapon system, fitted with a gun OSU-35k calibre 35 mm. This modification was developed with the assistance of the Navy of the country for minesweepers type Kormoran II.

The system can also become part of the armament of frigates of Miecznik. In addition, the Polish naval artillery system OSU-35k could be the basis for self-propelled ground-based air defense systems.

Without ammunition, the mass of a remote-controlled turret AM-35k, part of the system is 3.3 tons. Automatic cannon capable of firing at a rate of 550 rounds per minute with an effective range of up to five kilometers. It can use both conventional and programmable ammunition. This summer, the gun was successfully tested on the ground.

The development of the Polish naval weapons systems, in total, took about ten years.

The optimality of the functions, dimensions and weight OSU-35k allows you to use it as a base for the ground self-propelled anti-aircraft system is very short range (VSHORAD). The presence of a stabilized turret and the fire control system provides the ability to shoot from standing or moving platforms.
